How far in advance should I place my order & when should I send out the invitations / save-the-date cards, etc.?
Wedding invitations and stationery for events with a set date should be ordered as soon as possible – approximately 10-12 months in advance.
- 12-8 months in advance is when the save-the-date cards should be sent out.
- 6-9 months in advance, you follow up with invitation, detail & response cards (RSVP). Thank-you cards can be ordered either now or at a later date.
- RSVP-cards should be returned to you at least six weeks before the wedding so you can continue planning your big day.
- Following this the menu cards, name cards, table signs, thank-you cards and all other items you ordered will go to print.
- Please remember to allow enough time for shipping. Depending on the destination, shipping may take longer or be delayed by customs and weather.
- Express shipping is available (but entails an additional fee).
- Customizing a collection using your texts usually takes 7-14 days (printing and shipping not included).
- Custom design can take 3-10 weeks, depending on the work involved (printing and shipping not included).
What paper do you use for printing?
HOALOHA Designs attaches great importance to high quality as well as sustainability and therefore prefers printing on FSC-certified paper made in Germany.
Depending on the wedding collection and the specifics of the individual project, the paper used has a grammage of 240-700 g/m².
If you go for custom design, you have a lot of different options: very thin paper or cardboard, smooth or textured surfaces, different colors … there are so many choices. We also offer printing on grass or recycled paper. The price of each paper varies depending on type, weight and size. Please keep in mind that not every paper is suitable for every printing technique. Together we will decide which paper is right for your design project and preferred printing method.
What printing methods do you offer?
1. Digital printing: the most cost-effective option and very much in demand and recommended, especially for small print runs.
2. Letterpress: a more expensive printing process but also a real eye-catcher and my absolute favorite. This is a type of relief/embossing on the front. Available with or without color.
3. Hot foil stamping: Similar to the letterpress process, but with additional foil in gold, rose or silver.
4. Digital white printing

Do you offer worldwide shipping?
All our products are also available for international customers. Larger items such as wedding signages are only provided as digital files, so that the customer can have them printed locally. The cost of international shipping varies depending on destination and weight of the package and can only be calculated and communicated to the customer right before shipping.
IMPORTANT! I would like to inform you that we have no influence & no control over your packages once we have sent them out. Please keep in mind we are not responsible for shipping delays due to inclement weather, customs, strike, etc. We always send your packages insured via DHL within a tracking system. This way you can track your package at any time and are always up to date on the status of your shipment. We are not able to rush shipping for international orders. Since HOALOHA Designs is located in Germany, you yourself will be responsible for any import duties and taxes. Thank you for your understanding.
Are the designs available in different languages?
Yes, they are. Just send us your texts in the language of your choice and we will add them to your design. To make it easier for us to arrange your texts correctly on the respective product, it would be very helpful if you could also send us the corresponding English or German translation.
Do you provide digital files?
For copyright reasons and to maintain the high quality of our products, we do not release or license digital versions of our artwork. For the same reasons, we also handle the whole printing process ourselves. However, we do make exceptions for bulky, larger products such as wedding signages and the like.
I would also like to inform you that our designs are copyrighted. All files exchanged during our cooperation are for review and approval only.
Any type of copying, replication or imitation of our designs, whether digital or physical, will be considered an infringement of HOALOHA Designs’ intellectual property.
How much are your products?
Collections & custom wedding stationery: Since customers’ requests and the number of ordered products differ, final prices cannot be calculated until after a detailed briefing. However, to give you a rough idea of the costs of different printing techniques, I have compiled some pricing examples for your orientation.
Branding: For each branding package you will find approximate price ranges on the respective info page. Final prices can only be calculated and communicated after briefing and quotation.
Other: For all other inquiries I work with an hourly rate of 61,- € net.
How much are shipping costs?
Shipping costs vary depending on the destination, size and weight of the package. Within Germany, the costs usually range between 10 € and 20 €, within the EU between 20 € and 60 € and for international shipping the cost is usually between 60 € and 120 €. The costs for packing and shipping cannot be determined until after creating a final quotation.
Please keep in mind that international shipping entails extra customs fees and taxes, which must be paid by the customer.
What are the payment options?
Choose between two payment options:
- 100 % prepayment, to be paid immediately after placing the order or
- 50 % prepayment, to be paid immediately after placing the order, and 50 % to be paid before printing (only for projects over 2.000 euro)
Current payment method: bank transfer (bank details can be found in the quotation or invoice)
Do you take care of the printing process?
Yes, we take care of the whole printing process. To ensure we live up to our high standards of product quality, we only work with the best printing companies in Germany. Before we send out your order, all printed material is once again thoroughly checked by us for quality and quantity. Afterwards, everything will be carefully packed and shipped to you – ready for use.
I have found a typo in my design, what do I do now?
Once I have finished your designs in digital form, I will send you a PDF file for you to review and approve. Please take your time and check your texts for any typos or spelling mistakes before giving me the green light to print. It is best to have several people look over the texts who have not read them before, because very often the most obvious mistakes are easily overlooked. Two heads are better than one, right? After you have approved your designs, no more editing is possible. I would also like to point out that I will take no responsibility for any kind of errors in the texts.
Is it possible to return/exchange products?
Due to the custom nature of our services, we do not allow returns or exchanges. Since your satisfaction is our top priority, we will keep sending you digital drafts for review and approval during the design process: This way we want to make sure there are no errors in the design, so that we can approve the files for printing with a clear conscience. Any errors in the print will of course be discussed with the printing company – in this case the design will be reprinted.
The colors of our products differ from those of the digital images – how come?
We always try our best to ensure that our products are displayed online in the same color as when they are printed. Unfortunately, the representation of colors can vary depending on the respective screen. Sadly, we have no influence on this. We take no responsibility and are not liable if the color you received does not meet your expectations. Thank you for your understanding.
Sustainability
HOALOHA Designs attaches great importance to sustainability. We prefer to work with environmentally friendly paper from sustainably managed forests (FSC®-certified paper) and our packaging for your products is 100% plastic-free. For custom designs, we also offer printing on grass paper and other paper of natural origin. Shipping is conducted via DHL and their environmental program “GoGreen”.

Can I request further customizations of a semi-custom design?
I am very happy to make small changes in a design. Please contact me to discuss your ideas and we will see what is possible.
Are envelopes included in the order?
Envelopes can be booked separately if required. They are not part of a collection. Feel free to ask me which colors and sizes are available.
Do you also design stationery for baptisms, birthdays and other celebrations?
Yes, I am happy to design individual stationery for your special event.
Will our stationery show up on the internet?
I will feature most of my designs on my website, as well as on various social networks. However, I will protect your privacy and blur private details if you wish.
